Private Lessons

All private lessons are available in two payment tiers: Tuition or Pay-As-You-Go. Consistency or flexibility—it’s up to you.

Tuition: $294 per month

Pay-As-You-Go: $100 per lesson

Best for teens and adults who want to combine vocal technique with song work, performance prep, or deeper exploration.

45 min

Tuition: $235 per month

Pay-As-You-Go: $80 per lesson

A balanced session with time to focus on either technique or repertoire in more depth.

30 min

Tuition: $176 per month

Pay-As-You-Go: $60 per lesson

Great for children or beginners. These sessions are focused, engaging, and paced for building fundamentals.

Note: I offer sliding-scale rates based on your financial situation and access to resources. If that's you, say so when you reach out. No justification required.

Performance Workshops

These weekly group classes are available in Tuition or Pay-As-You-Go payment tiers. Once your initial commitment is up, you may choose another plan or extend with single class drop-ins.

$75 • 3-month commitment

For singers who want to build consistency and grow alongside a regular group of peers.

Pay-As-You-Go

$60 • 1-month commitment

A flexible option for singers who want the workshop experience without a longer commitment.

Drop-In

$15 • With prior attendance

For returning students with changing schedules who want to join a workshop when their availability allows.

School Policies

Payments

Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month. Payments received after the 10th are subject to a $25 late fee. If payment has not been received by the 20th of the month, lessons may be paused until the account is brought up to date.

For Pay-As-You-Go lessons, payment is due on the day of the lesson or prepaid on the first of the month.

Cancellations & Makeup Lessons

If you need to cancel, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to receive a makeup lesson credit. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice forfeit the lesson. A student who is more than 15 minutes late is considered a no-show, and the lesson is forfeited.

Makeup credits are limited to 4 per quarter, must be used within 90 days, and may not exceed 2 outstanding credits at a time. If I need to cancel a lesson, a makeup credit will always be provided.

Pausing or Ending Lessons

Private Lessons: I understand schedules and circumstances change. Since private lessons are intended as a monthly commitment, if you need to pause or end your lessons, I require 30 days’ written notice. Tuition remains due during the notice period, and you may continue to use your scheduled lessons. Refunds are not offered for unused lessons during the notice period.

Performance Workshops: Tuition is a 3-month commitment and is non-refundable. If you need to pause or end your workshop enrollment, please provide written notice at least one week before your next tuition renewal. You may continue attending workshops through the end of your current tuition period; unused classes are not eligible for a refund.

Switching from In-Person to Online

In-person lessons can be switched to online with at least 24 hours’ notice and mutual confirmation.

Because I occasionally book performances and need to travel, there may also be times when I request to switch a scheduled in-person lesson to an online lesson. If you would prefer not to meet online, you’re welcome to reschedule the lesson instead.

School Breaks

I take several scheduled breaks throughout the year. These breaks are already accounted for in tuition pricing, so you won't be charged extra for them.

Regular school breaks include:

Memorial Day and Labor Day
Thanksgiving week
Late December through early January
One week in spring
One week in summer

Spring and summer break dates vary from year to year.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are voice lessons for? Pretty much anyone who wants to feel more confident using their voice. I work with kids, adult beginners, music professionals, instrumentalists expanding their craft, people who sing as part of another hobby, and people who sing along with the radio. You might be working toward a specific performance goal, addressing vocal discomfort, exploring a new style of music, or just needing an artistic outlet. What ever brings you here, there's no singular "right" path.

What if I'm not a very good singer? Voice lessons are for everyone. You don't need to be a professional, an experienced performer, or even particularly confident in your singing to get started. You just need to want to learn. Lessons are a place to build skills, curiosity, confidence, and a better relationship with your voice—not a test of how good you already are.

What if my voice is changing or I've experienced vocal damage?That's okay. Voices change for all kinds of reasons, and you don't have to wait until your voice feels "finished" or perfectly healthy to begin working with it.

I have experience working with singers who are transitioning, recovering from vocal challenges, returning to music after a break, or continually relearning how to work with their voice as they age. Lessons can be adapted to where you are right now, with an emphasis on developing sustainable, healthy vocal habits.

If you're experiencing ongoing pain or other medical concerns with your voice, voice lessons aren't a substitute for care from a qualified medical professional. But you don't need to have a "perfect" voice to start learning. Let's chat about it.

Do you offer a sliding scale?Yes. I know that different people face different financial realities, so I offer two pricing tiers (Pay-As-You-Go and Tuition), sliding-scale pricing, and other discounts. If cost is the thing keeping you from lessons, please say so, and I will do my best to figure something out with you. My goal is to balance sustainability for myself with accessibility for the communities and people I work with.

The Tuition Rate, available for both Private Lessons and Performance Workshops, represents a 25% discount on lessons and classes. If you need more adjustment than this, sliding scale can be discussed during a prospective student's Discovery Call or requested by a current student at any time. There are three sliding scale rates: 35% off, 45% off, or 50% off. (For example, a 60-minute lesson would be $65, $55, or $50 per lesson, respectively.)

If you'd like to participate in the weekly Vocal Workshop but cost is a barrier, please reach out in person or by email. A couple cost-free spots will be made available each quarter.

Are there any prerequisites for taking lessons?Nope! There are no prerequisites. You don't need previous training, performance experience, or the ability to read music. In fact, you gain all of those at Michael's Music School!

Do I need to buy anything for lessons?Not very often. I may occasionally ask students to purchase sheet music or another lesson material. These can either be purchased directly by the student or reimbursed if I provide them.

What equipment do I need for online lessons?Getting started is simple. You'll need:

A laptop or tablet — Use your own device for a comfortable, convenient learning experience.
A strong internet connection — A reliable connection helps keep lessons running smoothly.
A distraction-free space — Find a quiet place where you can focus without interruptions.
Zoom — Most online lesson students use Zoom, a free app that makes it easy to connect from wherever you are.
